In order for the appraisal meeting to be a success, there needs to be an understanding of what is required beforehand. Arriving to an appraisal review without having considered the conversation in advance is heading for problems.
These training materials look at the steps involved prior to running an appraisal review. Good planning and preparation are essential to ensure the meeting is conducted professionally, covers the key points and leads to the desired outcomes.
IN THIS MODULE:
- The ‘Which Step?’ card activity – an exercise to cover the steps of planning and preparing for an appraisal meeting.
- An exercise to put into practice what delegates have learnt about how to deal with employees who are in denial.
AIMS:
- Develop a structure for an appraisal review including the planning and preparation required.
- Illustrate how to deal with employees in denial.

Ideally 6-12 people.
