Survivor syndrome is a phrase often used to refer to employees who are left working at the organisation once a redundancy programme is complete. In fact, the term ‘survivor’ can be used to refer to anyone who has gone through a process of organisational change that has impacted team dynamics/relationships.
In this module:
- An exercise in small groups to provoke thought on how change can be managed.
- A look at survivor syndrome and Tuckman’s team development model and the importance of managing and supporting survivors, and taking practical action to support, reassure and motivate them during a period of change.
- An interesting exercise on motivation and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.
- A discussion on the importance of communication during the change process.

Ideally, 4-16 people per session.
