These training materials provide an interesting way to introduce employee development as part of the appraisal process. This includes introducing delegates to coaching skills to use during appraisals.

IN THIS MODULE:

  • An interesting exercise to introduce employee development as part of the appraisal process.
  • A flipchart discussion on GROW – a model for coaching.

AIMS:

  • Examine the skill/will matrix.
  • Identify the best management style for each individual.

Time:

1 hour. There is an additional activity based on the GROW model, which requires a further 30 minutes.

Group Size:

Ideally 6-12 people. Training materials are reusable.

USEFUL FOR:

Those with management responsibility.

YOU’ll NEED:

  • Trainer pack and handouts.
  • Sticky notes – you will need to supply these.
  • “To Grow or Not to Grow?” activity cards – PDF version included or select training materials plus cards to receive a professionally printed set in the post.
