Diversity and inclusion shouldn’t really be all about making people feel good and ticking boxes, it should be about getting the most out of a diverse and content workforce, listening to their issues, working with them to resolve any problems and challenging them in a way that is
appropriate to their skills and the business needs. These training materials deal with the biggest stick of all – legislation.

IN THIS MODULE:
- A brief overview of the Equality Act featuring teaching points as well as discussions.
- “Am I Protected” – an insightful activity where delegates put their learning into practice determining whether the person in the situation has protected characteristics.
AIMS:
Learn to apply the Equality Act, discrimination and protected characteristics in the context of the workplace.
Time:
This exercise should last approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Group Size:
Ideally 6-12 people but can be adapted to suit smaller or larger groups. Training materials are reusable.
