This session is about looking at day-to-day scenarios in a practical, light hearted way to make people consider the language they use, why they use it and ultimately how a more inclusive work environment can be created.
IN THIS MODULE:
- The “In or Out” card game – where teams decide which words are acceptable for the workplace.
- A discussion activity on the responsibility of individuals and the organisation to combat discrimination.
- A scenario-based task in pairs, with delegates learning how to deal with situations with discrimination.
- A summary on the different types of discrimination.
AIMS:
- To identify the difference between acceptable/unacceptable behaviour and language at work.
- To define different types of discrimination.
Time:
This exercise should last approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Group Size:
12 people.
